No. Thermal management is built into the design of each Tiki Tube Amp to ensure all inboard componentry has adequate ventilation. On our larger models (> 10w) this generally means active cooling with a silent fan. Although the components themselves are rated for continuous operation at high temperatures, we make sure excess heat is removed quickly.

While the tubes themselves get hot, they are never in direct contact with the wood. Radiant heat does warm up the surrounding wood, and parts of the amp will feel warm to the touch after some time in use. However, temperatures never exceed 100°F. Wood burns at 451°, so there is ample safety margin.

We accept all major credit cards and wire transfer. Electronic payments are processed via Stripe.

A nonrefundable deposit of 50% is due at commencement. The remainder is due upon completion of the work. Completed work that is not paid in full within six months is subject to forfeiture.

Tiki Tube Amps are personally delivered by Desmond to the location of your choice. I will coordinate with you to manage shipping, delivery, and installation.

Yes, we do. We will also wire your Tiki Tube Amp transformers to accommodate local mains voltage and outlet plug style.

Desmond's Tiki Tube Amps are warrantied for five years against any defects in manufacturing. This does not cover consumable parts like vacuum tubes. It does not cover damage done by doing unusual things to the amp — like pouring beer inside it or dropping it. These are sensitive items. Treat them well and they'll treat you well. Buyer pays all shipping costs on warranty repairs.

Sadly, no. Because all work is custom we cannot accept returns.
