Clarence

Clarence has been here longer than you have. He sits, waiting, and watching.

Perhaps he's an old god, or a priest, or some devil encased in wood waiting for a body to be reborn. I honestly don't know. What I do know is he's frozen in time, a silent snapshot from antiquity. Locked away with him are secrets from the past, some perhaps best left forgotten. Yet in spite of any warning, impetuous adventurers will always come around to tease out the mysteries, even at great peril. Sometimes they unleash horrors onto the world, sometimes they just get dusty. With Clarence, one wonders if his eyes are silently moving behind the still veneer, tracking you, hoping the correct spell will be uttered and after a thousand generations he'll at last be free. Or, perhaps it's just a face carved into wood.
